Do you need an extra pair of eyes?

A photo of Caroline reflected back in her mirror. She is holding her phone up and wearing a grey top and the new jeans. The background shows a dog asleep on the bed.

I have a new pair of jeans. They caught my eye in my local shop and I picked them up on a whim. When I tried them, on I loved them instantly - so comfortable, so soft, such a nice fit!

Then second guessed myself. Were they OK? Did they look OK on me? They were a very different shape, and I didn’t look like I normally did.

I really needed a second opinion, another pair of eyes, a sense check. So, I asked the person in the shop those questions. I know, like and trust her perspective - she always let me know (very directly!) if something suits me or not.

It really helped.

There are lots of decisions we can make on our own. The way we feel is clear, and our inner authority has it covered, but sometimes we need a little back up - especially if it’s outside our comfort zone and we could use some extra support.

It can be a gift to have an extra pair of eyes, a second opinion from someone we know, like and trust, or insight from someone with relevant experience or expertise.

Sometimes it’s to stop us second guessing ourselves, other times it’s to reflect back something we can’t see.

And that’s absolutely fine.

Because decisions - like jeans - come in all shapes and sizes, and we want to make sure they’re a fit for us.

Wishing you all a week of decisions that fit you,
