I’ve had this book on a shelf for many years - one of those that I felt I should read, and wanted to read, but couldn’t seem to get around taking it off the shelf and starting.
And then, a month or so ago, the Time To Think approach came up in conversation with a friend. She was a huge fan, and hearing her perspective really inspired me.
Even better, she offered to be my study buddy.
We put in some times for me to experience the process and practice it myself. I know I learn best this way, and it was a complete gift to be offered that - especially by someone who knew what they were doing and was up for an experiment.
Having something in the diary also gave me the prompt I needed to get reading (and I LOVED the book!).
And I know it’s not just me that benefits from a little help.
When any of us are trying to make progress on a goal without an obvious deadline - perhaps something we we want to learn, or do, or reflect on - it can be hard to get into action on our own.
Sometimes it’s because it feels too big to start, or there’s no urgency to spur us on, or we simply haven’t had time to take a step back and think about the practicalities - when, where and how can it fit in our everyday lives?
Sometimes, like me, you’re waiting for the right person to show up.
Is there something you’ve been meaning to learn or do that doesn’t have a deadline?
And would it help to have a study buddy - to help you get started, keep going, or be a partner in the process?
Wishing you a wonderful week,
