Who can you dive straight in with?

You know those people in your life?

The ones you have a rich shared history or an instant understanding with?

The people who bring out the best in you, who it’s easy to be completely yourself with, and talk about anything and everything?

The people who you can dive straight in with without getting lost - from the start or after many years?

They’re simply your people, and they are a complete gift.

This kind of connection is special.

There can be a sense of relief when we find someone - or somewhere - we fit with. It gives us the ability to show up and share from the heart, and to shine our light clearly.

I feel it in my own life, and see the impact in coaching too - the transformation and relaxation when we’re in the right place, with the right people, being seen and appreciated for who we are on the inside as much as what we do on the outside.

It’s a wonderfully reciprocal energy and connection.

Those people don’t grow on trees, and fortunately a little can go a long way.

They can show up in all kinds of places, phases and stages - one at a time or a flurry if you are lucky.

So, we need to notice, appreciate and nurture the ones we have, and be receptive to meeting others.

Who are the people you can dive straight in with?

And can you show them some love and appreciation?

Wishing you all a week of appreciating those people in your life,

PS | The photo shows me and my school friend Kate. We were inseparable at 16, then drifted apart and rekindled a friendship a few years ago. We don’t meet up that often, but when we do we connect instantly and talk for hours - this time over a 9-mile walk along the Regent’s Canal on a gorgeous sunny day.
