“Start by drawing a line down the middle of a piece of paper”
I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve said this as part of a coaching session - either for the work we are doing in it, or as something to explore in between sessions.
I find it SUCH a useful tool for getting things down on paper so we can see them, understand them, and decide what to do about them.
One of my favourites is in the picture - the Energy Map.
It’s a quick and simple way of identifying the energy givers and drainers in our lives, right now.
I often do it if I’m feeling a bit ‘meh’ and can’t work out why, or if I’m trying to get to the bottom of why I feel exhausted in some way.
It helps me separate out all of the different parts, and identify where I could make some changes or different choices.
It helps me see what ‘feeds’ me and gives my life energy, and what’s taking it away.
At the very least I can see what’s going on.
So, if you’re feeling a bit ‘meh’, take a look at your Energy Map.
We each have a unique recipe for a life that gives us energy, and this is a great way of identifying some of the ingredients.
What are your ingredients for a life that gives you energy?
And could drawing a line down the middle of a piece of paper help you start to find them?
Wishing you all a great week,
