It's the Summer Solstice | A lovely time to shine a light on your life

A selfie of Caroline in a sunny Bushy Park, wearing a green dress and sunglasses, with a background of grass, trees, blue sky and Freddie the cockapoo.

We’ve just past the longest day of the year.

The lightest point and a beautiful time to shine a spotlight on where you are, where you’ve been, and where you’re going.

When we’re busy in our lives and work, we can forget to pause - to reflect back and appreciate the progress we’ve made, and to focus on what’s ahead of us.

And yet it’s so important. Whenever I do I feel clearer - the benefit of stepping back and seeing the wood for the trees.

So, take a moment to shine a light back over the year so far…

  • What’s happened this year? What have you been up to?

  • What are you proud of?

  • What have you learned - about yourself, or from experience?

  • Where have you struggled or had challenges?

  • What do you want to acknowledge yourself for?

And a moment to shine a light ahead…

  • From what you can see now, what might the next 6 months involve?

  • Is there anything you need to plan for or get ahead of?

  • What would you love to be celebrating at the end of the year?

  • What do you need to remember to help you get there?

  • Is there an easy next step you can take right now?

This can take as little or as long as you like - it’s not about doing it perfectly.

Time and space to shine a light on your experience is such a gift, even a little bit is useful to help you see what you might have missed.

Wishing you all a light-filled week,
