Could you do with a taste of adventure?

Penny and Caroline smiling in front of a stone wall, capturing a moment on the Race Across The World Experience in London.

We did it! 2 years after applying to be on the television show, my adventure buddy Penny and I completed our race across the world.

Or at least a version of it :-)

It may have been in London, and just for the day, without an intrepid camera crew following us, and yet… I arrived home buzzing with a big smile on my face and in my heart.

It was so much fun, and a brilliant taste of what it would have been like to adventure together. I loved it for so many reasons!

It was a joy to explore a slice of London with fresh eyes. We visited places I had never been to, and some I had but saw in a whole new way. Looking through the lens of the experience revealed details I would never have noticed - it’s so easy to miss what you’re not looking for.

Having to puzzle things out as we went made it even more interesting. I love a mental challenge and the satisfaction of figuring out the right answer (my inner swot was in heaven!), and it was fun to have choices to shape our experience.

We made a great team - each playing to our strengths (thank goodness for Penny’s observational skills!) and finding the balance between pace and pausing for perspective. The icing on the cake was the chat along the way - we know each other well, but a different kind of time together created a different kind of conversation.

I’m so glad we got to experience a version of what had inspired us - we even had to sprint for our train at the end!

It was a taste of adventure, without the overnight buses :-)

Is there an experience that you would love to have?

And is there a version of it you can do right now, with a buddy who’d be up for the adventure?

Wishing you a wonderful week,
