What are your 2025 highlights?

A homemade anniversary card - a photo of Caroline and Stu stuck onto white card. They are smiling down to the table in front of them, with drinks in the foreground. In the background is sky and greenery.

This photo captures one of my favourite memories from 2025.

It’s a selfie of me and my lovely husband Stu, taken in a pub garden in Grasmere.

It was the first time in a while that we’d been away just us - no teenagers, no dog - and this sums up the feeling of the experience.

When I look at it I smile - I can see our partnership, the fun, the team spirit, the ease and the love.

I found it as I was gathering a whole bunch of digital photos to print.

I’d put it off for a long time - too big a task! - but the process of reviewing and uploading was a complete gift.

It reminded me of so many moments that I had forgotten about.

It reminded me of the power of a photo to capture a moment.

At this time of year, I always look back at my calendar and through my notebooks to see the story of the year, but there’s an added - or different - dimension from visuals.

Scrolling through my Photos app is a trip down memory lane in itself - the everyday moments and the occasions, the things that caught my eye, the screenshots that felt important at the time, the practical reminders.

Reviewing my year in pictures is another way to look back, reflect, and appreciate the journey - and to edit it down to what matters most.

So, as this year comes to a close, what do the photos you’ve taken tell you about your year?

The highlights, the moments that mattered, the ones that made this year different?

The ups and the downs, your favourite memories, and the things that once felt important but can be let go?

And is there a photo that brings it to life for you to remember?

Wishing you a very happy holiday season,
